See Charleston now! A live, virtual tour from my Charleston home using digital resources (video and images).
Experience the best parts of the city with an award-winning guide using live, video conferencing software.
If you can't travel to Charleston, I can bring the best of Charleston to you in a live, virtual experience using video and images. From historic homes tucked away on picturesque, cobblestone streets to the high battery, we'll explore Charleston's 350-year history and show you some of the most important sites of the Colonial Period, Revolution, and Civil War.
I've been all over Charleston shooting video and taking pictures just for your tour, so you'll see everything that we discuss. . . almost like being right here with me! Even though we'll meet online, you can still interact with me and ask questions.
Appearances on NBC's Today Show (Tour Charleston Like a Local), Travel Channel, PBS, National Public Radio, A&E, Syfy, and Lifetime. I was also featured in United Airways' Hemispheres Magazine story, Three Perfect Days in Charleston. 5 stars on TripAdvisor, Yelp, Google, and Facebook.
Here are the sights that we'll see:
Powder Magazine Museum: National Historic Landmark built in 1713
St. Philip's Church: Founded in 1680, St. Philip's is the oldest congregation in the city.
Dock Street Theatre: First purpose-built theatre in the country
Pink House: Arguably, the oldest surviving structure in the city (c 1684). Once a tavern and brothel.
Old Slave Mart Museum: Once the largest slave auction market, now a museum dedicated the history history of the enslaved
Washington Park: You'll see a miniature version of the Washington Monument and an hysterically funny portrait of of our first president
Old Exchange Building: One of the country's most important Revolutionary-era buildings, also a National historic Landmark. Also the site of what was really the first tea party (months before Boston)!
The Battery: one of Charleston's most iconic sites. And it has a view of Fort Sumter, upon which were fired the first shots of the Civil War.
